Yoga

Hi everybody,

Here, through this post, I want to talk about yoga. Yoga has gained quite a popularity these days. Some practice it to overcome infirmity, some for peace, some to maintain their good health.

Yoga helps in all walks of life. Be it a relationship or health (mental, physical, or emotional health).

It is an art of living i.e. to live life healthily, holistically, and happily. This way, life becomes free of stress, depression, and discontentment. Thus, one can have a totally peaceful life or in other words a healthy, satisfying, and happy life.

To accomplish this totality in life, yoga encompasses 8 steps. The great Patanjali, who has propounded Ashtang yoga has prescribed 8 steps to follow in life to live life healthily, holistically, and happily. That's why it is also called Ashtanga Yoga or eight limbs yoga.

These are:
  1. Yama (personal hygiene),
  2. Niyama (social duties),
  3. Asana (postures),
  4. Pranayama (breathing exercise),
  5. Pratyahara (self-restraint)
  6. Dharana,
  7. Dhyana (meditation), and
  8. Samadhi.

To get complete benefit of yoga, one needs to practice seven out of its eight limbs.
Samadhi happens automatically if one practices all the seven steps for a long time.

The combination of the three limbs i.e. asana, pranayama, and dhyana are compulsory to practice to have the minimum benefits of yoga.

The regular practice of Yoga helps in strengthening the immune system, enhancing the enthusiasm and work performance.
However, if all the limbs are practiced sincerely; then one gets not only mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits, but his or her whole personality improves many folds.

God blessings!
